M2TM Progressions DV (for Live 11 and 12)

M2TM Progressions DV is a MIDI device effect for Ableton Live 11 and 12, that allows you to generate harmonies taken from a repository of over 230 progressions (including all common and many not-so-common ones). Progressions can be transposed to any key and octave, rotated, reversed and randomized. You can specify chord inversions, open/close voicings, select chord complexity, create "thicker" chords, and choose among 150+ rhythm patterns!

At a first glance, M2TM Progressions DV looks like one of those MIDI chord packs that are so popular among musicians, except no pack gives you this variety and flexibility. If you combine all M2TM Progressions DV's harmony and rhythmic variations, you end up with the over 700 billion different chord progressions!

In addition to working on both Live 11 and 12, standard MIDI devices have other advantages over Live 12 MIDI tools. For example, they support presets for saving their settings, and their fields are MIDI-mappable. Also, you can create multiple instances of the device and generate two or more MIDI clips at the same time, using knobs and sliders of an external MIDI keyboard to control their parameters.

M2TM Progressions DV' unique auto-inversion option can automatically select the best inversion for each chord in the rogression, as an expert piano or keyboard player would do. If two consecutive chords have notes in common, the legato can merge theme into a single, longer note (great for pads and string sections!).

You can generate the harmonies for an entire song by concatenating simpler progressions in the same Session or Arrangement clips. New progressions can be appended to existing ones, and the loop-match option can ensure that the clip's loop area always either matches the most recent progression or encompasses all the sub-progressions generated so far.
